If a solid fuel fireplace, flue liner or stove is to be installed; planning permission must be obtained by the home owner prior to work taking place. However the Planning application and certification process can be bypassed if HETAS registered installers are used who can self certify their own work. Thus saving the customer money, time and the worry of knowing if the job has been done correctly.

Each stove installation is completed with a HETAS certificate and data plate.  If you then move, you Hetas certifcation is a guarantee for your buyer that your stove or solid fuel appliance has been professionally fitted.
